Zionists panic over Montreal vote to cut Israel ties

On Monday Montreal city council will vote on a historic motion opposing genocide. With Zionists panicking over a vote on cutting ties with Israel, it’s imperative to immediately email councillors and join the planned rally.

Tomorrow Canada’s second biggest city is set to vote on a resolution calling Israel an “apartheid” state committing “genocide”. Referencing a 1989 decision to cut ties with companies profiting from apartheid in South Africa, the resolution calls for Montreal to do the same with Israel. It would also bar Israeli officials from being invited to City Hall.

In 2022 the city passed a similar motion targeting Russia and has passed many other international focused resolutions.Still, pro-genocide organizations and commentators are feverishly decrying how Israel is being singled out and the importance of only dealing with local issues.

On Saturday there were two full page ads in Le Journal de Montreal opposing the resolution. Three days earlier there was another of the costly ads in that paper. There have been multiple columns in the Montreal Gazette, Suburban and La Presse opposing the motion. Many pro-Zionist international outlets have covered the issue with the Jewish Journal publishing “Israel Derangement Syndrome Hits Montreal City Council” and a Jerusalem Post headline noting. “Montreal opposition party moves forward with motion to cut ties with Israel”.

On X Harvey Finkelstein, Jesse Brown and Michal Cotler-Wunsch have posted hyperbolic statements about Jews being targeted. Former Conservative party candidate Neil Oberman released a video attacking the (Zionist aligned) mayor and suggesting something beyond normal protest was required.

The genocidal Jewish supremacists are worried that some in the mayor’s Ensemble Montreal party will break ranks to support the motion. Sponsored by the opposition Project Montreal, the motion only requires a few members of the mayor’s party to break rank to pass.

In June, Ensemble Montreal postponed a planned vote on the resolution, presumably out of fear it would pass. They are reportedly submitting a water downed alternative motion in a bid to stave off a vote on Project Montreal’s motion.

Opponents of genocide have been organizing as well. A thousand Quebec artists and cultural workers have signed a letter calling on the council to support the resolution. Palestinian Youth Movement Montreal, Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East, Just Peace Advocates, Canadian Foreign Policy Institute and various others have organized leafleting, online statements and email campaigns. Hopefully Montreal’s city council will vote to sever ties with apartheid and genocide.

For those in Montreal a protest is planned at city hall on Monday at noon and it only takes a minute to email councillors to ask them to vote in favour of the anti-genocide motion.
