What must Trump do for Carney to blame USA?

Blame Iran. That’s Carney’s response to a new round of US attacks and genocidal threats.

The Trump administration recently restarted its war of aggression against Iran, hitting significant civilian infrastructure.Carney immediately endorsed the US attacks as “appropriate”.

On Sunday the Liberals repeated their pattern of ignoring US/Israeli war crimes against Iran while condemning that country’s response. Foreign affairs minister Anita Anand posted, “Canada stands with the Gulf States as they face another barrage of attacks from Iran. These attacks violate the memorandum of understanding and undermine efforts to restore security and stability in the region. The Strait of Hormuz is an international waterway; Iran’s continuing attacks on ships transiting it are a violation of international law.”

However one feels about Iran’s asymmetric resistance, Tehran is responding to aggression. Yet the Carney government has released at least two dozen similar ‘blame Iran’ type statements over the past four months. They never condemn the principal aggressors and ignore how the Gulf countries Iran is striking have major US military installations and have (quietly) launched attacks on Iran.

Carney’s Liberals also ignore the crazed threats by the sociopathic US president. Over the weekend Donald Trump posted, “1000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, with thousands of more to immediately follow, should the Iranian Government act on its threat, pronounced in many corners of the Globe, to assassinate, or attempt to assassinate, the sitting President of the United States of America, in this case, ME! Orders have already been given, and the U.S. Military is ready, willing, and able, for a one year period of time, subject to extension, to completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran – PRAISE BE TO ALLAH!”

Israeli officials and their US allies have long sought to convince Trump that Iran was responsible for assassination attempts against him. Before the war uber Zionist Lindsey Graham said on Fox News that Iran must “pay a price” for trying to assassinate Trump and the Wall Street Journal reported that the recently deceased US Senator made several trips to Israel to coordinate with officials there and coach Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on lobbying Trump to launch strikes on Iran. After Graham died Sunday, Carney praised him for standing “resolutely in defence of democracy and freedom.”

In West Asia and elsewhere the Canadian military continues to assist the US war machine through NORAD and other bilateral military accords. There’s no indication Ottawa has paused, let alone cancelled, one of the hundreds of bilateral accords. Embarrassingly it’s the Trump administration that’s acted, pausing the World War II era US-Canada Permanent Joint Board on Defence.

While I have not seen polling asking Canadians about severing ties to the US war machine, the public has turned highly critical of the US. In Saturday’s Globe and Mail prominent pollster Nik Nanos noted that a recent survey his firm conducted found that a whopping 81 per cent of Canadians describe the Canada-US relationship as negative. Nanos described hostility towards the US a “national consensus… If this were a hockey game, Canadians have dropped their gloves at centre ice ready to take a swing.”

The public wants to distance this country from the US but our ‘elbows up’ prime minister continues to support US aggression.
