Canada’s Jewish Federations want me in jail for promoting an email petition to the police. Ongoing Zionist authoritarianism is part of their support for a Greater Israel project spiralling southwest Asia into chaos.
Recently, I was sentenced to 50 hours of community service, a $300 fine and two years of probation for promoting an email petition campaign directed at the Montreal police. I am appealing a conviction that threatens our right to petition the police and infringes on freedom of expression.
The Quebec branch of the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs publicly complained that the punishment was insufficient (I spent five days in jail to defeat an odious release condition as part of this process). The advocacy agent of Canada’s Jewish Federations posted, “We are appalled to see that the agitator Yves Engler will only be subjected to a simple probation for his actions that far exceed mere activism. The recognition of the dangerousness of such behaviors should have been followed by an exemplary sanction.”
Six weeks ago a slew of Zionist groups celebrated my conviction. And as part of the sentencing the Toronto-based Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation sent a Community Impact Statement to the crown calling for a harsh sentence.
My legal battle dates to last February when I promoted an Action Network email petition to the police after an investigator with the Montreal police’s hate crimes unit said she was charging me for “harassing” anti-Palestinian media personality Dahlia Kurtz. The Kurtz charges were ultimately dropped.
Zionist authoritarianism in Canada is in service of a lawless supremacist state. Last year Israel bombed Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, Iran, Qatar as well as the territorial waters of Tunisia, Malta and Greece. After two and half years of genocide, Israel is now plunging the region into chaos by bombing Iran and Lebanon (they continue to kill in Gaza and steal land in the West Bank). Saturday Israel bombed an oil depot in Tehran, covering the city of 10 million in smoke. It’s a major war crime not to mention an ecological calamity.
The Israelis have repeatedly stated that they will assassinate whoever is selected as leader of Iran. Or anyone involved in selecting the leader. Or whoever they see fit.
Israel is proving itself a lawless criminal enterprise, and Canadian Zionist groups support every crime their beloved genocidal Jewish supremacist state commits. And Israel’s aim in Iran is for that country to descend into chaos, as multiple corporate newspapers have admitted in recent days. In the Financial Times Danny Citrinowicz, an Iran expert at Tel Aviv’s Institute for National Security Studies, said: “If we can have a coup, great. If we can have people on the streets, great. If we can have a civil war, great. Israel couldn’t care less about the future … [or] the stability of Iran.” Tel Aviv simply wants to weaken, even Balkanize, a country that checks their regional dominance.
Israel is seeking to break the country up on ethnic grounds. In a story on how they are pushing Iranian Kurdish groups in Iraq into the fight the Wall Street Journal reported Friday, “Israeli forces are working to create the conditions for a popular revolt. They have hit targets linked to Tehran’s repression apparatus. Many of the strikes have occurred in western Iran’s Kurdish provinces, where they hit military bases, border-guard posts, police stations and other regional security centers.
“Israel and the U.S. have been supporting some Iranian Kurds inside Iran, seeing them as an auxiliary force to wear down and destabilize the regime, a person briefed on the war said. Israel has been supplying Kurdish groups with weapons for months, the person said.”
(Adding weight to my recent article “Does Ottawa support Kurdish ground invasion of Iran?”, former vice chief of the Defence Staff Mark Norman told CTV three days ago that Canada has “long established relationships through our special forces with the Kurds”, which may be a way for Canada to assist the war on Iran.)
Israel would like to see Iran splinter along ethnic/regional lines. But a Kurdish insurgency could also negatively impact Turkey and Iraq while Balochi secessionism could destabilize Pakistan. Israel doesn’t care. In fact, chaos across the region benefits Greater Israel enthusiasts, which is most Jewish Israelis.
According to an Israel Democracy Institute poll, a whopping 93% of Jewish Israelis support aggression against Iran. Conversely, only 26% of “Arab Israelis” surveyed backed the war and other polls suggest strong majorities in the US, Canada and elsewhere oppose the war. Incredibly, 73% of Jewish Israelis openly admitted that they don’t care about the suffering of Iranian civilians.
Canada’s Zionist Jewish community may not be as blood thirsty. But, if the statements of CIJA and other advocacy groups are any indication there’s significant support for the aggression and dismembering Iran. Vancouver’s Jewish Federation, for instance, just organized an Iran war “briefing” from retired Israeli Col. Miri Eisin.
Expect an escalation of Zionist authoritarianism in Canada as Israel and the US unleash utter chaos across the region.
